Category & Material: Sculpture, Metal Date: 8/2006 Size: 14 x 5 x 5 in Description: To make this guy, I took a piece of half-inch rod and forged it (using an oxyacetyline heating torch and a hammer) to make the body. Then I took a piece of 1/4" rod and cut and bent it into legs. Then I took four pieces of welding rod and bend them, cold, into wing shapes. Then I welded it all together. The major challenge was welding very thin pieces of metal (wings, legs) to a very thick piece of metal (the body). Keywords: animal
