starting over w/a new stone
my stone was last night deemed NG. aillene came to investigate the chipping that i mentioned to her, gave a few experiemental expert taps, and asked “would you be heartbroken if you had to start all over again?” Well . . . YES! Sigh. so now i am the proud owner of a brand new stone, this time a hundred and fifty-one pounds of dependable semi-translucent white italian alabaster.

done some more work on the current plastilene sculpture. got shots from three angles to ogle.
rock update
did some more work on the tiger’s eye rock. i can actually start to see whence the face will emerge. you can see see some picts here. i’m a little concerned about getting all down to the nice grey stone that theoretically is hding underneath the flakier yellow stuff … but we shall see.
new plastilene sculpture – chris
the newest plastilene sculpture in progress. chris, a standing female. as of now, i’ve only put in 5 or 6 hours.
i’m doing an experiment with this sculpture by attempting to exaggerate some of her stance to create more movement and tension than she can comfortably hold. she is relaxed, but i want the sculpture itself to show evidence of some strain. (from the back, from the side, and from the front.
